According to my contact at Curt, you could use the Gooseneck Flat Plate, # C65500, and mount it directly to the bed, assuming the bed is at least 1/4 inch thick steel, on your 2005 GMC TopKick Lo-Pro. In order to mount the flat plate to the bed you will need to use at least six 1/2 inch Grade 5 mounting bolts. The best way to pick out a weight distribution system is to base it off of the loaded tongue weight of the setup when it is loaded and ready to tow. This figure also includes the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle. I attached a help article on determining tongue weight for you to check out as well. You will want the loaded tongue weight of your setup to fall right in the middle of the tongue weight range of the system you use.

The correct wire on a vehicle to connect to the red input signal wire on a brake controller like the Prodigy P2 # 90885 is the one at the cold side of the brake light switch. The cold side of the switch is the wire that shows 12V power ONLY when the pedal is pressed and at no other time. Use of a voltmeter or circuit tester like # PTW2993 will make it easier to identify the correct connection point for the controllers input signal.
